The Callanetics Story
 
One word describes Callanetics exercises:  Unique! They are the only form of exercise that can change the way your body looks and feels in a matter of hours!
 

Callan Pinckney created this revolutionary exercise method to combat her own severe back and knee problems. The program she developed consists of isolating specific muscle groups and using tiny, precise (yet powerful) movements to increase strength and flexibility. She discovered that not only did the exercises completely alleviate her back and knee pain, but they also completely reshaped and toned her body.

 

Since developing her program independent scientific studies have verified its effectiveness, making it the subject of many feature articles in leading publications serving professionals in the fields of medicine, physical therapy and fitness.

Judy Mooser's Story
  

I left behind a 20-year insurance career in order to introduce the Callanetics exercise method to the Northwest.  My inspiration was my own experience with Callanetics -- how it had changed my life.

 

At age 35 I developed chronic back problems due to bulging disks, disabling me from participating in the outdoor recreation I enjoyed and preventing me from maintaining the healthful fitness to which I was accustomed. Medical doctors and chiropractors provided pain relief but were unable to correct my condition. At 49 years of age I discovered the Callanetics exercise program. Unlike so many other programs I had tried (which aggravated my condition rather than helped) Callanetics restored my quality of life.

 

Callanetics techniques develop the very deep, intrinsic muscles that support the posture and back. My results were typical. In a very short time I not only regained a strong, fit and lithe body, I also lost two clothing sizes - without weight loss.

 

Now at age 70, I continue to teach as a Certified Callanetics Instructor. My Callanetics studios have operated for 20 years and, I'm proud to say, are recognized as among the best and most successful in the nation.

 

I believe you will find the teaching style practiced in my studios to always be reassuring, keeping you appreciative of the real gains I know you will realize.  Brynn or I carefully interview and orient new students to make sure each gets the individualized attention so important to the mind/body work of Callanetics.

 

I feel fortunate to have been trained under the direct supervision of Callan Pinckney herself, and have been honored by Callanetics Management Company, Inc. with title of Master Trainer, granting me the authority and responsibility of training Callanetics teachers worldwide.

Brynn Sylvester's Story

 

I came to Callanetics from a dance education and background.  My Bachelor of Arts Degree is a dance major and over the past 11 years I have performed nationally and internationally while teaching dance as my primary livelihood.  As a dancer, I explored every avenue I could find which promised full body fitness. 

 

When I was introduced to The Callanetics Exercise Method, I was surprised at the quick results.   After going through the Callanetics orientation and a single class under Judy’s instruction, I was hooked, convinced of the unique value of the program for anyone, whether a master level athlete wanting to gain an edge in her/his sport or, on the opposite end of the spectrum, someone who wants the benefit of fitness but who otherwise wouldn’t be able to exercise due to chronic health conditions or injury.
